Major of Big Data & Statistics
The Major of Big Data and Statistics offers three educational programs; (1) big data computing, (2) big data analysis, and (3) big data application. The big data computing course deals with R data language, Python, cloud computing, text mining, information retrieval, Database Management System (DBMS), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and data preprocessing for making structured data. The big data analysis course provides diverse analytical methods based on statistics and machine learning such as regression, deep learning, probabilistic models, Bayesian approach, graphical models, social network analysis, clustering algorithms for supervised and unsupervised learnings. This course also covers data science. Finally, the big data application course gives various lectures related to practical implication of big data for Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data surveys, social media marketing, big data engineering, Management of Technology (MOT), patent big data, etc.
Major of Artificial Intelligence & Software
The Department of Computer Information Engineering, the parent organization of the Major of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Software, was established around 36 years ago in 1984. With the goal of cultivating professionals that can deftly manage advanced software to contribute to the smart software industry, the curriculum was revised to adopt a more software-focused curriculum in 2018. Software technology is the core high-value added technology of the future IT industry. The software industry is people-centered, and people are its competitive edge. The professors of this major are dedicated to training integrated professionals that can compete in the software industry. We provide the core knowledge of AI and Software areas such as programming languages (C, Python, Java, JSP), AI Algorithm, AI Programming, OS, Computer Architecture, DB, Computer Networks, etc. With our qualified education, professors will incubate students in the area of AI & Software. The students will grow as major experts in the world of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Major of Digital Security
Explosive advances in computer systems, networks, smart devices and multimedia devices have resulted in faster, broader, and more convenient information and communication convergence services that produce, collect, and transmit information. However, computer systems and networks are not securely protected which means that various hacking attacks on public and private information are occurring extensively. Thus, the importance of information security services, such as confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and access control which can securely protect computer systems and networks, is increasing.
The Major of Digital Security teaches the principles and techniques of information security technologies that can defend and solve cyber-attacks and threats on computer systems, such as various hacking, viruses, and illegal exposure or modification of information and identify theft. Through the program, we train engineers specialized in Digital Security with the ability to securely store and deliver public and private information in the 4th Industrial Society.
