Introduction

Department of Business Administration

The major of Business management is based on corporations. Corporations are one of the most important organizations in modern society and the importance is growing by the day due to economic growth and the rapidly changing corporate landscape. We aim to train future professional managers who can manage corporations and any other organizations in a rational and scientific manner and implement increased corporate value by meeting the needs of employees, customers, and stakeholders. According to the trend of corporate environment shifting in favor of globalization, informatization, and localization, we try to achieve not only to cultivate future professional managers through a variety of ways, such as foreign language education, international business, IT education, practical education through industry-university cooperation, moral education for business ethics and environment, but also to help students get into various business fields.

Department of Accounting

The Division of Business Administration of Cheongju University, Major of Accounting was established in 1977. The long tradition and history of the Division of Business Administration, Major of Accounting has created a curriculum that covers various subjects such as financial accounting, administrative accounting, tax accounting, non-profit accounting, and theory of capital markets, enabling graduates to work in various types of organizations in society. We also educate students to equip them with practical skills that can be immediately applied in the industry and offer major courses in both Korean and English to better cultivate accountants with international acumen. We offer the Major of Accounting at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels. Graduates from the Major of Accounting are employed in the field as accounting professionals in organizations such as Corporations, Accounting Firms, Financial Agencies, the Government, the National Tax Service, and Colleges.

Department of Economics & Commerce

Department of Economics & Commerce nurtures economic and commerce experts in various countries and regions such as China, Europe and America as well as domestic area based on the basic knowledge of economics and commerce. To this end, the low grade students focus on the learning of economics and international commerce knowledge. Department of Economics & Commerce guides for students to select the interested regions and grow to the local economics expert through region specific economics and commerce cases specialized in China, Europe and America as well as Economic theory and reality Economy and trade case analysis and application education. In addition, in line with the trend of times, Department of Economics & Commerce nurtures true economic and commerce experts leading the change of time by providing various fields education such as SNS-based business, financial economy, trade practice, big data analysis training.

Department of International Trade

Established in 1976, the Department of International Trade acts as a spearhead in Korean exports amidst an environment of international trade that grows more competitively day by day. The department concentrates on training trade professionals that can stand shoulder to shoulder with global citizens through the field-centered practical education through the "Cultivation of Creative, Practice-Oriented Trade Professionals with International Acumen" that enables them to fulfill their roles. In particular, the Department of International Trade has a good reputation for hosting government financing support projects such as ‘The Glocal Trade Experts Incubating Program (GTEP)’. The department aims to cultivate future international trade experts and is training future professional managers to manage trade-related companies. The Department of International Trade intends to achieve this goal of cultivating future trade managers by implementing a good curriculum.

Department of Tourism Management

The major of Tourism Management provides a theoretical foundation as well as practical knowledge about the field of tourism and aviation based on service which is rapidly growing in the 21st century. We emphasize not only the basic values of fundamental and practical studies that are required of tourism students, but we also emphasize the cultivation of humanity and proper personalities which produce outstanding professionals to be differentiated in the global tourism and international air transport service industry. This major specifically prepares students for their future careers in the fields of travel agencies, airlines, airport services, resorts, MICE industry, event planning, e-tourism service, hotels & casino, food service, tourism related government organization, public corporations and comprehensive tourism businesses. Furthermore, graduates of this major can advance to all areas of business management related to hospitality, tourism and the industry of air transport. Graduates can also move on to lead in the field as an expert and/or global leader with conversant international standards, a rational manner and a sense of mission that is needed to lead the industry.

Department of Hotel Foodservice Management

The Major of Hotel and Foodservice Management was established in 1989 in order to train hotel and restaurant professionals to enable them to apply a broad base of professional knowledge in restaurants and hotel management. This major focuses on the cultivation of competent hotel and restaurant managers that possess a service mindset imbued with practical, working knowledge. A quality assurance and audiovisual curriculum for hotel and restaurant services is also in place, enabling students to acquire an even broader service mindset. The Major of Hotel and Foodservice Management effectively teaches students theories and skills in the workplace based on the educational concept of "Usher in the New Era with Practical Study" at Cheongju University. This will ensure that the demands of the times and of the society for trained professionals in the fields of the hotel and restaurant industry will be met.
