Major of Electronic Engineering

  • Since its founding in 1976, the Major of Electronic Engineering has a long-standing tradition and produced many graduates, contributing greatly to the development of the integrated Electronic Engineering Industry, a major industry in Korea.
  • The Major of Electrical Engineering is one of the most popular majors, and to enhance the matriculation rate and the employment rate after graduation, a system has been introduced where each student is assigned a professor and instruction is given at certain levels to cultivate the education of theory major classes and practical competency in one's major.
  • In addition, for students who would like to major in photovoltaics, a field recently rising in prominence, or take it as an elective, the photovoltaics professional track has been established so that students can apply for it early on in their junior year and study an additional two years to complete the photovoltaic science track.

Major of Semiconductor Engineering

The Major of Semiconductor Engineering was established in 1985 with a quota of 40 students. In 1991, the Graduate School of Industrial Management was established, offering a Master's degree.
In 1999, the Information and Telecommunications Center was established as an attached research institute.
The competitiveness of the department was improved with the New University for Regional Innovation (NURI) project that has been running for five years, and the Nurturing Excellent Engineers in Information Technology (NEXT) that has been running for two years.
In 2012, the Accreditation Board for Engineering of Korea [ABEEK] system was introduced, contributing to the fields of Semiconductor Process and Material, Semiconductor Equipment, and the Semiconductor Circuit and Design.
In 2014, the Graduate School began offering a Master’s degree.
In 2017, the Major of Semiconductor Engineering had developed the semiconductor field as one of four strategic industries that is a new growth engine in Chungcheongbuk-do (bio, next generation batteries, semiconductors, electrical and electronic converged parts), and it has been designated and conducted as a specialization project for smart Internet of Things (IoT).

Major of Electric Control

  • Based on a curriculum that suits the job based aspects of industry workplaces in the electric, electronic, and control technology field, a field that forms the foundation for national industries, the Major of Electric Control trains customized electric technology professionals with hands-on practical experience and future-oriented characters who can successfully perform tasks in the electric equipment, electric automation control, and generating unit fields.
  • The Major of Electric Control has developed a specialized curriculum that integrates both electric and instrumentation and control. An effort is made to improve the educational environment in order to enhance the quality of education, and a feedback plan for a continual connection to graduates working at companies was established. The Major of Electric Control also aims to strengthen the vocational program for current students.
  • In electricity production and distribution it aims to train engineers in electrical engineering with a wide range of technologies ranging from the device associated to the consumption operation, management and development in the ICT sector and IoT for them.
